Sound Bath with Krista
Experience an energetic lift and powerful shifts with a Sound Bath by Krista Pfohl. Melt tension and stress, reduce anxiety and connect with yourself on the deepest level with this transformative experience.
What is a Sound Bath?
Sound Healing uses vibration to evoke shifts in a recipient’s body and auric space (the energy field surrounding the body). In a sound bath, the body is submerged in a “bath” of vibration, and the response is powerful! The nervous system settles, tension melts, and the mind shifts into the Theta brainwave, where the subconscious mind resides. It’s in this theta brainwave where all the magic of meditation resides: peace and ease, improved immunity, the release of those happy hormones like oxytocin, and an overall sense of wellbeing. The instruments (Gong, Crystal/Tibetan singing bowls, and more) create a meditative and deeply restorative space for transformational growth from within. This luminal space allows for new awarenesses and clarities, including the subconscious patterns and limiting beliefs waiting to be released.
A sound bath is a simple and effective way to tap into your heart space to experience physical, emotional and spiritual connection with the truth of who you are, the “Divine Self.” It is in this sacred space that true and lasting peace is remembered once again. Krista’s sincerest wish is that everyone has access to this amazing modality.
If you’re ready for restoration and energetic clearing, this event is for you!

Tides of Vinyasa – rescheduled to January
“Vinyasa” is a Sanskrit word you’ll often hear that means “to move in the flow of breath” like water to the lunar tide. It is when we use breath to get back into our natural rhythms that we can reset our nervous system, shedding stress and baggage. And the great thing is that you can incorporate this into all your yoga practices once you learn how. At this workshop, you will learn to create your own reset to the rhythms of nature.
A Q&A will follow the workshop for those interested in learning more about 21st Century Yoga on the Mat’s 200 hour teacher training.
Date: TBD
Time: TBD
Instructor: Alex Pfeiffer of Main Street Yoga Center and 21st Century Yoga on the Mat teacher training
Fee: $30

Wishing Tree Book Club
Come explore yoga related books with the Wishing Tree community. Enjoy hot tea and discussion every fourth Thursday, beginning in November. Book club will occasionally meet on an alternate day of the week. Watch for updates on our Facebook events and Instagram page as well as in member emails.
Our first two books:
Stolen Focus by Johann Hari (facilitated by Jo) on November 14, 7:00-8:30pm. While not specifically a book about yoga, Johann Hari discusses some of the societal forces we are up against as we try to maintain grounding and focus. The book is thought provoking and should make for some good discussion. Book Club is free or by donation to the studio.
The Yamas and Niyamas by Deborah Adele (facilitated by Ali) on Sunday, December 15 from 1:00-2:30pm. The first two limbs of the eight-fold path of yoga sutras (the basic text for classical yoga) are examined in this book. The Yamas (restraints) are the first five guidelines which encompass nonviolence, truthfulness, not stealing, non-excess, and non-possessiveness. The last five are Niyamas (observances) — purity, contentment, self-discipline, self-study, and surrender. The book is short, easy to understand and applicable to everyday life.
