Jo Temte
My first encounter with yoga was through meeting a friend’s mother while she was in headstand. This was the late 1970s and totally out of character for mothers of the time, at least in my neighborhood. I later learned that Mardi was a yoga instructor! She helped me think very differently about what our bodies and minds are capable of and launched me on my yoga journey.
I’m American Council on Exercise (ACE) group fitness certified and have been teaching for over 20 years – everything from kickboxing and weight training to yoga and Pilates. While I loved all styles of movement, I kept gravitating back to yoga and all it has to offer mind, body and spirit. In 2018, I completed my 200 hour yoga teacher training with Alex Pfeiffer, 21st Century Yoga on the Mat. More recently, I have earned Mind Body Specialist and Pain Free Movement Specialist certificates from ACE.
My special interests are hands, feet, pain-free movement, functional fitness and healthy aging. I also enjoy working with at-risk youth. Outside of the studio, you can find me in my garden, sketching, paddle boarding with my dog, or hiking with my family. I look forward to practicing with you!
Jo’s Pilates class offers a fun and challenging way to strengthen your core. I look forward to this class every week.

I always enjoy the yoga classes with Jo. She works with stretching and flow and I feel more limber and just feel better after her classes.
